BEYOND “AMEN” AND “ADAM”: 70 HEBREW WORDS EVERY CHRISTIAN SHOULD KNOW
August 22 @ 10:15 am - 10:45 am
Some of us say a few Hebrew words like “Amen” and “Shalom.” Or we might know the meaning of certain names: “Israel” means “wrestles with God” or “Isaac” means “laughter.” But in our time together, we will focus on more social, cultural, and linguistic differences that highlight what we sometimes miss when the Old Testament is translated into the English language. Join us to hear about a fascinating language (and about a very engaging book by Matthew Schlimm). Please remember to bring a chair!
